简谈聊斋以人类学角度《聊斋》英译本中“深度翻译”基本

摘要：20世纪后期，文化人类学的进展特别是其中诠释人类学等新学科的蓬勃兴起，给人文社会科学的进展带来了深远影响，也给了翻译探讨以新的探讨视角。诠释学认为翻译即诠释，基本说来译者所处的情形与正在做解释活动的人所处的情形相同。正是由于翻译所具有的理解诠释的特质与克利福德·吉尔兹(Cpfford Geerzt,1926-2006)所提出的诠释人类学中关于“深度描写”的观点不谋而合。美国翻译家阿皮亚(Kwame AnthonyAppiah)将“深度描写”移植到翻译领域，提出“深度翻译”这一概念，并指出其对于补偿跨文化翻译历程中随之而来的文化缺省现象有着积极作用，在捍卫文化真实性、推动文化传播与交流方面有着不可替代的作用。本论文基于阿皮亚和赫曼斯(Theo Hermans)对于“深度翻译”的探讨论述以及国内学者的探讨，以诠释人类学角度对其寻根溯源，并质化其定义。本论文以翟理斯《聊斋》英译本为探讨对象，试图找出译本中体现的“深度翻译”现象并对其进行探讨，浅析其特点，并通过翟理斯译本与杨宪益译本的比较探求深度翻译的作用与不足。探讨认为翟理斯英译的《聊斋》中“深度翻译”具有三种体现形式：序言，后记以及评论与注释。在译本中体现的特点体现为如下四个方面：深度翻译具有解释性；体现了译语与源语文化的差别；注重文化细节的表达并体现了译者的主体性。最后比较浅析发现“深度翻译”的运用对于《聊斋》译本中文化缺省的补偿，提升读者对译本中所出现的文化意象的可理解度都具有积极作用，并一定程度上推动了中国文学与文化的传播。虽然“深度翻译”虽然有着翻译详细度不好把握等局限性，但对于在传译文学著作尤其是古典文学中伴随的文化缺省现象以及中华文明的对外传播具有积极作用。由此在中国文学积极走向世界的今天，本论文的探讨不仅为翻译文化意象丰富的古代文学作品提供了新的可行性案例，更重要的是本探讨较全面地改善了“深度翻译”的论述与运用，并使之更好地指导翻译实践。关键词：诠释人类学论文深度翻译论文《聊斋》论文文学翻译论文补偿对策论文
