摘要:叙事学论述发源于西方,在结构主义的背景下同时受到俄国形式主义的影响而产生,并从形式主义批判而闻名。《左传》包含着丰富的叙事文学材料,是一部杰出的叙事文学著作。犹太著名汉学家浦安迪(1945——)教授曾认为:“中国叙事文学可从追溯到《尚书》,至少可从说大盛于《左传》”。(浦安迪11)国内外有许多学者均以叙事学角度对《左传》进行了研究。伯顿·华兹生是美籍著名汉学家,多年来对中国文学作品多有翻译与探讨。他的《左传》译本只包含了原文篇章的大约三分之一,译者在叙事时间和作用方面进行了调整,并采用翻译对策使提升了整个译本的可理解性,旨在让目标读者了解中国典籍,熟悉中国文化。译本于1989年在哥伦比亚大学出版社出版,在美国社会引起了广泛关注。对《左传》英译本的探讨将会推动中国典籍的英译,并会影响到典籍英译的对策定位,进而对文化交流起到进一步的促进意义。本论文以叙事学角度出发,对华兹生的《左传》译本与原文进行比较分析,通过探讨试图呈现出其在叙事方面区别于原文的特点,并对形成这种特点的理由进行综合分析,说明译者翻译对策选择的合理性,从期为未来中国典籍的翻译提供参考,为今后译者在翻译历程中选取翻译对策提供借鉴作用。关键词:翻译论文叙事论文《左传》论文伯顿·华兹生论文文化交流论文
