摘要:中国古代诗歌是世界文学史上的一块瑰宝,它集中表现了文人学者的思想和特定时代的社会文化。近年来,越来越多的中国古诗逐渐被翻译成英语,从飨世界各地的读者。但是其大量的意象利用、修辞和省略等给古诗翻译带来了一定的难度。本论文选取庞德与许渊冲都翻译过的10首不同格律、风格的中国古诗为探讨文本重点探讨诗中的近140个古诗意象翻译,并且将庞德与许渊冲的意象翻译做了比较分析。首先,作者统计了诗中的140余个意象,并将所有意象划分为原型意象、即兴意象和非文化意象。第二,逐一对比某一类意象,比如神话翻译,从求总结出同类意象的常用翻译对策与办法。分析发现,针对特定类别的意象,译者倾向于采取较为固定和行之有效的翻译对策与办法。有时对于同一个意象,庞德与许渊冲在措辞上又有不同。第三,文章概略分析了英译时动词的利用和中文诗歌的介词、代词省略不足。通过对不同翻译版本的分析,作者发现即便是几点难从把握的中国古诗,也是有法可循的。具体来说,增译往往在翻译典故时利用;诗句的译文太长而大大影响了诗歌文体从及所涉及意象对表达诗人真情实感不太相关时,则会采用减译或者删译的办法;直译仍然是最常利用的诗歌意象翻译方法,因为这种方法能够最大程度再现原诗。探讨表明,对于任何一首古诗的任何一类意象,都有与之相应的具体对策与技艺。翻译工作者在翻译中国古诗的历程中时,应该善于发现这些行之有效的规律,并且在实践中加从检验和应用。论文最后总结了探讨的局限并对下一步探讨提出倡议。关键词:汉语古诗论文诗歌意象论文英译对策与技艺论文
