谈述规范图里翻译规范论述视角下《时间机器》三个中译本

摘要：《时间机器》是英国著名科幻大师赫伯特·乔治·威尔斯（1866-1946）的成名之作。以1915年译介到中国从来，此书目前已有超过30个中译本留存于世。但国内对于这些译本的探讨还非常之少，本论文拟结合图里的翻译规范论述对《时间机器》的杨心一译本，沈师光译本和王瑞新译本进行比较探讨。图里（Toury）将规范的概念引入了翻译探讨，并提出了识别和分类翻译规范的办法。此论述的目的不在于设立规范，而在于探索影响译者行为的规范，并建立一个涵盖控制因素的完整系统。图里将规范分成三个类别：初始规范（Initial Norms），预备规范（Prepminary Norms）和操作规范（Operational Norms）。前两类以宏观上影响翻译，后一类以微观上对翻译造成影响。初始规范决定译者倾向原文本还是译文本的文化，预备规范控制译者对原文本的选择，操作规范在实际翻译历程中起意义，影响了译本的宏观结构从及具体翻译对策。本论文首先分析了初始规范是如何影响译者对翻译的总体倾向的。探讨发现，三个译本分别遵循了当时的主流规范，杨心一译本从文言写成，并有大量改写，译本的倾向性为可接受性，而王瑞新译本的倾向性为充分性，沈师光则将译本的充分性和可接受性结合起来。再者，本论文分析了三个译本的不同时代背景和读者期待，阐述不同译者的翻译政策怎样受到预备规范的控制。接下来本论文分析了操作规范是如何控制不同译者在实际翻译活动的抉择的，包括对原文本的分割，增删，对词汇，句子结构的选择从及不同文体特点的分析。本论文尝试为《时间机器》这一科幻作品的中译本探讨提供一个新的视角，即用图里的翻译规范论述解释三个不同时期的中译本分别如何受到规范的控制以而导致译本出现不同的面貌，希望从此实例加深人们对图里的规范论述的理解。关键词：图里翻译规范论文初始规范论文预备规范论文操作规范论文时间机器论文
