摘要：《红高粱家族》是莫言向中国当代文学奉献的一部影响巨大的作品。虽然从抗日战争为背景，但其应用另类的战争语言书写了一群独特的、特属于红高粱的英雄，他们不完美，也并非正义的化身，却存在鲜活的生命与人性。全书洋溢着莫言独有的饱满想象力，展现其卓越的汉语言驾驭才能，打破传统的时空顺序与情节逻辑更是与作品中生机勃勃的自由精神暗暗相合。在阅读了小说的部分内容之后，美国著名翻译家葛浩文将《红高粱家族》选做他第一部要翻译给美国读者欣赏的莫言作品。作为莫言第一部进入美国商业营销渠道的作品，《红高粱家族》英译本Red Sorghum: A Novel of China的体现并没有让人失望，“在美国有很多好评，10多年来一直未绝版，到现在卖了1.5万册，在美国有这个数量就已经不错了”（葛浩文语），这一体现肯定了葛浩文在原文本的选择上的成功，同时也是本论文选择《红高粱家族》极为英译本来进行探讨的主要理由。《红高粱家族》英译本所获得的高位认可和葛浩文在整体翻译历程中，对相关交际语境和语言语境所做出的有意识或者无意识的适应是密切相关的，这也是本论文将要理论的主题。本论文从比利时语用学家耶夫·维索尔伦（Jef. Verschueren）的语用综观适应论为论述框架，从《红高粱家族》极为英译本为方案，对葛浩文的翻译行为进行分析。适应论以认知、社会、文化的整体视角解释语言的利用，提出语言的利用即是在不同意识程度下为适应交际需要而不断做出选择的历程。从适应论为视角，翻译活动同样可从被看成是一种语言交际活动，在这一交际活动的各相关因素影响下，译者需要做出相应的选择使其译本适应特定的目标语境。本论文研究翻译历程中译者如何进行适应从达到预期的翻译效果，由译本的选择、译者和出版社的社会身份、译本的物理媒介等外部因素开始分析，同时结合中英两文本中具体事例来分析在具体的文本翻译中译者对语言语境从及交际语境所做出的适应，以而得出结论，适应论为翻译行为与语境之间相互意义的探讨提供了一个较为有益的思路，翻译行为的成功与否，文本旅行的顺利与否，同其与相关语境的适应程度是呈高度正相关的。关键词：《红高粱家族》论文葛浩文论文翻译论文适应论论文
