探讨理工科基于需求理工科院校英语课程设置技巧

摘要:随着全球化的进展,很多院校都增设了英语专业,这意味着英语专业的毕业生越来越多,但他们的就业前景却没有引起足够的重视。事实表明,很多英语专业的毕业生所以事的工作与英语无关,尤其是学习EGP课程的毕业生,这表明学校培养的英语专业学生与社会对英语专业毕业生的需求还存着差距,由此了解社会对英语专业毕业生的需求从及英语专业学生的学习需求对解决这一不足势在必行而且迫在眉睫。而这一需求的了解和调查必然会对课程设置有一定的指导性,进而改善目前的教学模式。本论文采取了需求分析和课程设置从及两者之间的联系的论述,结合John Munby和HutchinsonWaters的需求分析论述和模型,采取问卷调查和访谈,即定性分析和定量分析相结合的办法,对学生对目前的课程满意度及教学模式、老师对学生的需求了解及课程满意度和社会对英语的需求进行调查和研究。本探讨的对象为三个群体:一是重点理工科院校——大连理工大学,大连海事大学和东北大学的大二、大三学生;二是任课老师;三是在职工作人员且在日常工作中能用到英语。本探讨的问卷设计是基于HutchinsonWaters提出的需求分析模型及需求分析在课程设置中的框架,同时借鉴了其他文献中此类问卷的共性。最后问卷的数据用SPSS软件进行统计分析,得出结论和启迪。探讨表明,要达到社会需求,学生的学习需求和课程设置之间的统一是很难的。但毋庸置疑,不断地了解和调查这方面的需求对于课程设置是十分必要的,因为学校与社会是不能脱轨的。在理工科院校的英语专业课程设置中,要推广建设有自己特色的英语课程,提升学生的语言技能和知识水平。同时,教学模式应多样化,教学内容丰富化,为学生提供更多利用知识和语言的机会。关键词:学习需求论文课程设置论文英语专业论文理工科院校论文
