摘要:Fauconnier和Turner提出的概念整合论述为文学作品的探讨提供了一种新的论述基础。作为认知语言学领域的重要论述之一,概念整合论述具有强大的认知力,能够揭示语言利用的心理运作机制,帮助人们解释语言构建历程中的思维变化,以便对文学作品创作历程中的想象力和创造性有更加精确与深刻的理解。本论文运用概念整合论述以认知层面浅析Naipaul作品中文化意象的深刻涵义,旨在诠释概念整合论述对文学作品中文化意象的解释力,并通过对Naipaul作品中文化意象进行认知解读来进一步认识作者的多元文化身份,以更深的层次来解读Naipaul及其作品。本论文选取奈保尔代表作中的4个意象作为样本,以概念整合论述中的认知机制来揭示这些文化意象所蕴含的文化作用。通过整合,可以得出:《抵达之谜》反应了作者融入英国文化历程中的困惑和迷茫,是作者英国文化身份的自我追寻;“房子”意象表达了作者对特立尼达的家园情结,是其寻求故土文化身份的象征;“黑暗”意象是奈保尔对印度文化的鞭策,作者有着无法割舍的印裔文化身份;《河湾》中的“转折”意象意味着奈保尔文化身份的转折,作者体现出对第三世界文化的关注,呈现出其世界公民的文化身份。通过浅析可以发现:概念整合论述的运用可以延伸到小说中去,因为小说中的文化意象含有丰富的认知涵义。用概念整合论述浅析小说中的文化身份,能更深入地了解文化意象背后作家的文化身份,有利于对作者的多元文化身份的正确认识。关键词:概念整合论述论文文化意象论文奈保尔论文多元文化身份论文
