试议目论目论视角下《红楼梦》中章回题目翻译

摘要：《红楼梦》是我国古典章回体小说的代表之作。小说独具特点，语言优美，修辞多变的章回题目是这一伟大文学作品不可忽略的亮色。小说每一回的章回题目生动凝练的概括出本章故事的中心脉络，加之其自身的巧妙措辞与构句，均使读者过目难忘。纵观全书，章回题目作用非凡。由此，在将这样一部作品翻译成英文时，它独特的章回题目的翻译至关重要。目的论思想认为，翻译目的决定翻译者采取的翻译对策与策略。本论文以翻译目的论思想做指导，分别以《红楼梦》两版英译文章回题目中选取有代表性的典型例文，以人名、地名，委婉语，文学作品或历史典故，单字修饰语，以及整齐对仗等几个方面比较浅析两个英译文的翻译对策异同点及侧重点。本论文认为，译者的翻译目的影响译者所采取的翻译策略与对策，然而，整体而言，对于一部文学作品完整再现，并无绝对的最佳翻译对策，最好的翻译对策应是，巧妙合适的融合运用（归化与异化）两种翻译对策，而以《红楼梦》的两版译文来看，杨宪益夫妇与霍克斯正是如此策略的践行者。关键词：红楼梦论文章回题目论文目的论论文翻译对策论文
