分析红楼梦跨文化视角《红楼梦》中涉及人物塑造隐喻

摘要：隐喻既是一种特殊的语言利用现象,也是一种认知现象,是人类认知世界的强有力的工具,是人类认知能力,社会文化,语境和语言共同作用的结果。由此,对于隐喻的探讨应与语境、认知、社会文化以及特定的交际目标相结合。翻译不仅是语言层面更是文化层面上的一种活动,在跨文化交际中发挥着重要的作用。作者认为,隐喻的翻译应该纳入文化交流的范畴来讨论。《红楼梦》是中国文化的百科全书,其中利用了大量的隐喻,在人物塑造方面尤其突出。本探讨选用《红楼梦》及杨宪益、戴乃迭夫妇和英国学者大卫·霍克斯的被公认为译作典范的《红楼梦》的英译本作为探讨的主要语料,通过比较英汉涉及人物塑造的隐喻的异同,试图揭示如何以隐喻翻译的角度来推动英汉跨文化的交流及隐喻在跨文化中的相似性与相异性,以跨文化的角度来充实对隐喻的认识。根据探讨需要,在前人探讨成果的基础上,作者首先将不同的翻译策略划分为的六个不同等级,随机选取了《红楼梦》的两个英译本的前80回中212个涉及人物塑造的隐喻,对他们进行分组归类,进而对各个类别组的翻译等级做了统计,考察了两译本中体现出来的英汉隐喻的相似性与相异性。本探讨结果如下：为了实现功能对等,归化这一翻译对策在两译本中都占有主导地位,这表明隐喻的产生很大程度上受到不同文化的影响,体现了较为显著的英汉文化特点；译者翻译对策多变性和随机性说明跨文化交际中尽量实现功能对等是主要的目的,也是隐喻翻译应达到的目标。这对于探讨隐喻这种特殊的语言现象及其翻译实践都具有积极的指导作用,对于英汉语言比较探讨等方面也有一定的参考作用。关键词：隐喻论文跨文化论文人物塑造论文功能对等论文红楼梦论文
